The Waterside on the Waterside Plaza in Sale, reopened on the weekend after an investment of £45,000. The venue has timed their refurbishment perfectly, ready for the mid-summer months in their prime location next to the River Tame.
The Waterside’s refurbishment sees the introduction of a new, more contemporary colour scheme, filling the venue with light using creams and a fresh olive green. The pub’s space has been redistributed with a partition, creating more usable, cosy spaces and the addition of LED lighting and feature wall paper has given the pub a modern feel. Now, the pub’s glass doors to the beer garden open up the whole venue to the summer air and the Waterside’s great external space, which has also been spruced up for the summer season. Customers can enjoy drinks with friends or a romantic supper, alfresco in the continental style area.
The team at the pub made their own contributions to the refurbishment over the six-day closure, working hard to ensure the Waterside was in perfect condition to reopen with the new look. Sally Thompson, assistant manager said, “We wanted to make sure our pub was looking its very best in time for the opening! We gave the place a thorough spring clean inside and out and made sure we, as a team, were ready to greet our customers with the best smiles and customer service we could offer.”
The Waterside hosted an opening party in celebration on Friday 27th May, giving new and existing customers the chance to see the new design, sample some nibbles and raise a couple of complimentary glasses.
“Everyone really enjoyed the event!” continued Sally, “It was great to be able to showcase the venue and have a bit of a party. We’ve had a really great reception to the new-look, especially with the doors opening across the bar now. It is the perfect place to come and enjoy something to eat and a drink in the gorgeous summer weather!”
